Maui Beach Weddings


	Why Makena Cove Beach? Makena Cove is one of our favorite sites and we've coordinated a lot of weddings here over the last 13 years. The beach is small and sheltered and is difficult to find by the casual tourist. The sunsets at Makena are usually awesome. The offshore view is usually has clouds which they may look dark and forbidding, but they seldom produce rain here, even in winter because this is the dry side of the island. It is likely that you'll have a beautiful sky here for your sunset wedding. There are no restrooms or facilities at Makena Cove and no paved parking area. If you use the beach on a weekend, it often has a lot of bathers and fisherman. Many locals have now found it and (especially) on weekends, it is often used for those camping, fishing and picnicking, and because the beach is so small this can definitely be a problem. Makena Cove is also VERY popular with other Maui wedding coordinators and it is often likely that there will be one or two or more weddings going on during the same time. Fortunately, wedding parties are usually small.
There is a rock wall leading into this Maui beach wedding site, and part of it is covered with ivy. We like to use it for my pre wedding photography. Here are some wider shots that give you a little better idea about the background it produces.
