Digital Maui Photography
I haven't posted for 10 days! Wow. Time flies. I've been so busy doing Maui weddings that I just didn't think about blogging (except when I wasn't at my computer).
In my last post (below) I shared just how much I am enjoying doing digital photography at my Maui weddings. I've really become so accustomed to my digital camera and the great results that I can get that way. But the other night Susan and I discussed this, and the fact that I have been spending so many hours at the computer editing those photos, etc. This became so much more noticeable because we are doing so many weddings — almost one a day. And it is quick for the work load to build up and get behind with so many images going into the computer and to the lab and . . . (you get the idea).
We both agreed that as much as we both enjoy the digital world, I couldn't continue to do this with the same low prices that we offer. I'm making the same amount of money, but spending twice the amount of work. Therefore, we both decided (relunctantly), that I would return to shooting film for our weddings unless our couples specifically upgraded to digital photography.
We're figuring that with the added time, we have to charge about $200 more for each of our photo packages in order to make it a win-win situation for us. What a couple gets for that is more editing (and special effects) and probably a better quality of images (because we shoot more) and can eliminate all of the closed eyes and bad shots.
